You can’t plan things as great as last night date went. I was getting coffee right around the corner from my apartment with a girl. We were talking and having a good time. She might have had way too many shots of espresso, and was a little too bubbly for my liking, but I blamed it on nerves and coffee. So we are flirting when, all of a sudden, the power goes out for the whole block.
I’m quick on my feet, I suggest going up to my place (since I lived close) and watching a movie with a bottle of wine. She looked at me a little hesitantly for a moment.
I know what you are thinking, and yes I did orchestrate a block-wide black out just to get you up to my place.
She laughed. I threw out a couple more jokes.
Fast forward an hour and we’re cuddling on my couch with a bottle of wine, under candlelight. A hodgepodge of bizarre Yankee Candle smells from various seasons fill the room as we watch Casablanca. To be fair, you can only get a few hours of entertainment max out of a half-charged laptop battery and a bottle of wine…you will naturally have to find other ways to fill the time during a blackout. I’ll say it again. You can’t plan stuff this good. Well, you can, but the blackout pretty much put this one right in my lap…literally.
